Information on Sitting Engineer Ground Examinations
Prior to sitting any Licensing examination candidates are required to read all of the documents contained in the 'Candidate Examination Guidance' section on this page. Failure to do so could result in a delay in processing your application or even your paper being void.
Candidate Examination Guidance
The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), as the Competent Authority for Examinations is in the process of introducing electronic examinations (e-Exams) to replace the paper-based system. This transition began with Flight Crew Professional examinations for Aeroplane & Helicopter ATPL, CPL and IR and is now entering Phase 2 which will transition Aircraft Maintenance Licence ground examinations to e-Exams by the start of 2015.
Candidates will be required to register onto the CAA Services Portal, including identification validation and previous sitting history verification, before accessing the e-Examinations service. Once registered, candidates will be able to access their dedicated portal account and e-Exams service to book, pay and amend their examinations at CAA national and international venues, and be able to review their e-Exams results.
During August and September 2014, additional information will be provided by the CAA on the transition of engineer professional ground examinations. Please refer to this website for periodic updates.
