Renewal of BCAR Section L Licence

Guidance for Applicants

Description

Application to renew your BCAR Section L Licence so you can continue to exercise the privileges of this licence for Annex II purposes.

Pre-requisites

You must already hold a BCAR Section L Licence

You are only able to apply to renew your aircraft maintenance licence 60 days prior to the expiry date,

You are required to show 6 months in the last 24 months of experience in the Aviation Environment.

Cost

If you have a valid EASA Part 66 Licence then there is no fee for this service.

If you are the holder of a BCAR Section L Licence then you have two options:

  • £131.00 to renew the Licence for 2 years or
  • £320.00 to renew the Licence for 5 years

An additional fee will be payable if you wish your documents to be returned by secure courier.

Processing time

We will endeavour to process applications within 10 working days from date of receipt.

Validity period

The BCAR Section L Licence can be valid for 2 or 5 years from the Licence issue date.

You will need to provide

  • SRG 1011 Application form
  • SRG 1187 Payment form

Alternatively you can visit the Public Counter at Aviation House which is open from 08:30-16:30 Monday-Friday.

What to expect

  • Once the application has been received it will be assessed and renewed by a Licensing officer.
  • The licence will be signed by the Licensing officer and dispatched.
