The holder of this licence may act as Pilot in Command of Multi Pilot aircraft and Single Pilot aircraft, provided they meet the medical and currency requirements for doing so.

Varieties of this licence include ATPL(A) and ATPL(H)

Pre-requisites

• You must be at least 21 years of age.
• 1500 hours flight time in Aeroplanes including 500 hours in multi-pilot operations for aeroplanes for the grant of an ATPL(A)
  or;
• 1000 hours flight time in helicopters including 350 hours in multi-pilot operations for helicopters.

If you are the holder of an existing UK issued Flight Crew licence which has not already been converted to a Part-FCL licence, then this licensing action is likely to result in the compulsory conversion of your existing licence to a Part-FCL licence, for which an additional application form/information will have to be submitted, and additional requirements may have to be met. Cost

The fee that you need to pay will depend on your circumstances; for example:

• whether you already hold a UK licence, and whether that licence has already been converted to an EASA-FCL licence
• whether your application will be made at the same time as applying for something else.

Processing time

We endeavour to process applications in 10 working days from date of receipt.

Validity period

EASA-FCL licences have no expiry date and are threfore valid for the holder's lifetime.

What to expect

A desk based assessment from a Flight Crew Licensing Officer or Assistant.

Following an acceptable assessment your licensing application will be processed signed and despatched

• We will contact you if we have any queries regarding your application and may keep your application pending whilst any additional requirements are met.
• An assessment and refund fee may be charged if the assessment results in the rejection of your application. This will also be applied if you choose cancel your application.

In some circumstances an applicant for a conversion of an existing licence to an EASA licence may also require a national licence to fly Annexe II aircraft (Aircraft not on the EASA Type List). This process is undertaken by the Licensing Officer who assesses your application.
