Information about the appointment of Revalidation Examiners of Type Rating Examiners
Companies may apply to the CAA to use experienced Type Rating Examiners (TREs) for the revalidation of their existing TREs.
Companies applying to appoint a RETRE for a type must normally employ at least 10 TREs.

In order to maintain the privileges of their authorisation, RETREs are expected to attend the annual seminar, which provides an update on the current legislation and offers discussions of training issues within the industry. Presentations have included;
The details of the Seminar are sent electronically to each RETRE approximately 5 months prior to the next seminar.
There are fees involved and they should be paid directly to the Flight Operations Inspectorate (Training Standards).
Should a RETRE be absent from a Seminar without a valid reason, they will be advised that failure to attend another Seminar during their authorisation validity period may result in revocation of their RETRE authorisation.
