Organisations may hold an approval from Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) to maintain aircraft or components for aircraft that are registered on the Canadian Aircraft Register.

A Bilateral Agreement between EU and Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) was signed on 2 February 2012. 
The Bilateral Agreement means that NAA’s in Europe will undertake the oversight of organisations that hold EASA Part 145 approval and TCCA CAR 571 and 573 Approval. This means that the UK CAA will undertake the oversight of those organisations where the main base is in the UK.

Pre-Requisites
 

Organisations must be based in the UK and hold:

• A valid EASA Part 145 approval
• A current TCCA CAR 571/573 approval.

Cost

Approvals are subject to an annual continuation fee detailed in the UK CAA Scheme of Charges therefore no charge is payable to UK CAA upon application for continuation.

In the event of a discrepancy between the information here and the Official Record Series 5, CAA Scheme of Charges (Airworthiness, Noise Certification and Aircraft and Aircraft Engine Emissions), the Scheme of Charges takes precedence. 

Payments can be made by credit or debit card or by bank transfer or by a cheque made payable to the Civil Aviation Authority.

Processing time (On receipt of all required information)
 

The application will be processed by Applications & Approvals (A&A) and forwarded to the CAA Regional Office for review within 10 working days.

Validity period
 

Once granted, a TCCA Approval is valid for 24 months unless suspended, cancelled or revoked.

Applicants should be aware that the TCCA may request suspension of the approval at any time if the conditions of approval are not met.

You will need to provide

• A completed TCCA Form 24-0093.
  
• Confirmation that the MOE supplement reflects the company procedures and activities,
  or
• An updated MOE Supplement for review and acceptence

How to Apply

• Applications for continuations need to be made between 90 days before or up to 30 days after the continuation due date
• Complete the TCCA Form 24-0093
• Check the organisations MOE Supplement to ensure that it reflects the company procedures and activities. The MOE Supplement should be amended if required and submitted for review and acceptance.
• Sends TCCA Form 24-0093 and MOE Supplement to the CAA's Applications & Approvals (A&A) Department
• A&A will process the application and acknowledge within 10 working days.

What to expect

• A&A will review and log the application. The MOE Supplement will be forwarded to the local CAA Regional Office for review
• The Regional Office will review the MOE supplement and when it is acceptable will notify A&A
• On receipt of the notification of acceptance from the Regional Office, A&A will forward the TCCA Form 24-0093 to the TCCA
• The TCCA will review form and invoice applicant for the approval continuation
• The applicant pays the invoice from the TCCA
• On receipt of the payment, the TCCA will notify A&A of the next continuation due date
• A&A will issue a letter to the applicant to advise the next continuation due date.  This letter will be copied to the CAA local Regional Office and EASA
• EASA will update their website showing TCCA approvals

Applicants should be aware that the TCCA may request suspension of the approval at any time if the conditions of approval are not met.
