Information regarding the various navigation approvals available

Approval allows aircraft to fly with a vertical separation of 1000 feet between FL290 and FL410 inclusive.
Approval permits flight within MNPS designated airspace in the North Atlantic.
Approval permits flight within RNP-10 designated oceanic and remote airspace.

Approval permits twin-engined aeroplanes to operate over a route that contains a point further than one hours flying time away from an adequate aerodrome.
Approval allows aircraft to navigate at FL95 and above without the use of point source navigation aids.
A further development of B-RNAV. P-RNAV procedures have not yet been published in the UK; however, approval may be sought for P-RNAV operations elsewhere in Europe.
LNAV and LNAV/VNAV
Approval allows RNAV (GNSS) Approach Operations to LNAV and LNAV/VNAV minima for AOC operators. (Currently private operators do not require specific approval.)
LPV (Localiser Performance with Vertical guidance)
Approval allows RNAV (GNSS) Approach Operations to LPV minima for AOC operators. (Currently private operators do not require specific approval.)
RNAV (RNP)
Approval allows Approach Operations that are sometimes called RNP Authorisation Required (AR) or RNP SAAAR (Special Aircrew and Aircraft Authorisation Required). Approval is required for allAOC and private operators.
ETOPS

RNAV1

LNAV and LNAV/VNAV
CAA Form SRG1813, together with supporting documentation, should be sent to the Flight Operations Policy Department.
