Registration of Aircraft Mortgages

The UK Register of Aircraft Mortgages was created in 1972 and provides for the following:-

• To protect the mortgagee, whereby the CAA will not cancel the registration of a UK registered aircraft without the mortgagees consent or discharge of the mortgage.
• To establish priority of mortgages over UK registered aircraft.
• To provide information on existing mortgages to interested parties.

An aircraft entered on the UK Register of Civil Aircraft, together with any store of spare parts, may be made security for a loan or other valuable consideration for entry on the UK Register of Aircraft Mortgages.
