Reference:ERCD Report 1209 Title:Proposed methodology for estimating the cost of sleep disturbance from aircraft noise Description:This report builds on significant work undertaken in the past decade by the WHO and the UK Government Interdepartmental Group on Costs and Benefits to propose a methodology for estimating the monetary cost due to sleep disturbance from aircraft noise. The impacts evaluated include the loss of productivity resulting from sleep disturbance, and the health impacts resulting from the increased risk of hypertension that can lead to acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), hypertensive strokes or dementia.
