Reference:IN-2012/082 Title:Frequency Monitoring SSR Codes Description:In order to both prevent and mitigate the consequences of airspace infringements, pilots operating close to the peripheries of certain controlled airspace (but not requiring an Air Traffic Service) are strongly encouraged to monitor the relevant ATC frequency. Pilots monitoring the promulgated ATC frequency should select a local SSR conspicuity code and Mode C pressure-altitude mode (if available) as specified to indicate they are monitoring the frequency.
