Title:Exemption from compliance with Annexes I, II, III and IV of Regulation (EU) No. 1178/2011
Description:Regulation (EU) No. 1178/2011 comes into force on 8 April 2012. The enactment of an amendment to that Regulation by the European Commission is currently in progress. The amendment will make provision for Member States to defer application of the provisions of Annexes I, II, III and IV of that Regulation to a later date. The United Kingdom has notified to the European Commission that it intends to apply the Annexes with effect from 1 July 2012. There is the possibility that the amendment will not come into force until sometime after 8 April 2012. This exemption is issued to prevent the Annexes from being applicable to pilots flying UK-registered aircraft between 8 April and the date of applicability of the amendment; thereby achieving the same effect as the use of the derogation provision which will be contained in the amendment.
