Title:VHF Communications Configuration Requirements for Air Traffic Services
Description:CAP 670, Part C, Section 1 COM 02 ‘VHF Aeronautical Radio Stations’ specifies requirements for main, standby and emergency radiotelephony equipment to be used for VHF communication with aircraft. This requires that communications appropriate to the service being provided are available, and also provides Acceptable Means of Compliance (AMC). The COM 02 equipment configurations were identified and documented in the context of service level definitions, which pre-dated the implementation of the revised Air Traffic Services Outside Controlled Airspace (ATSOCAS). Therefore, there is a need to clarify how the minimum communication configurations are to be applied when providing ATSOCAS.
