Description:An increasing number of reports have been received by the CAA, highlighting concern over the quantity and size of hand baggage arriving at the aircraft door and associated stowage problems. In addition, the Confidential Human factors Incident Reporting Programme (CHIRP) has received a large number of such reports from crew members and a number of CAA Mandatory Occurrence Reports have also been submitted on this subject. The purpose of this Safety Notice is to remind operators of the need to ensure that baggage is stored securely in a manner which does not endanger aircraft safety.
