Description:In the early years of aviation the main cause of accidents was attributed to technical defects. However as the reliability of aircraft improved it became apparent that the proportion of accidents attributed to non technical causes was increasing. Crew Resource Management (CRM) was developed as a result of accident analysis and information from Flight Data and Voice Recorders which indicated that many accidents were caused by the flight crew responding inappropriately to a particular situation.
