Airprox Report – 17 April 2012

An Aircraft Proximity (Airprox) report has been filed involving an Airbus A319 and a Cessna 550. The incident took place 5nm south west of Cambridge on 17 April 2012 at 15:47 hours.

The A319 was inbound to Luton and the C550 was en-route to Northolt. The A319 was receiving an air traffic service from London Terminal Control Centre and the C550 was receiving an air traffic service from London Air Traffic Control Centre (Military). The incident took place at approximately 6000 feet.

These details are subject to assessment by the independent UK Airprox Board. During 2010, the last year for which full data is available, there were 35 Airprox incidents involving commercial air transport with the absence of any risk bearing incidents.
