CAA statement on Airports Commission Interim Report

Date: 17 December 2013

A CAA spokesperson said: “The Airports Commission has undertaken a rigorous process to develop their recommendations, and we welcome their work and today’s report. The report underlines the need for additional capacity in the UK. The CAA is clear that without additional capacity consumers will suffer from higher prices and reduced choice. But events in recent weeks have also highlighted the fragility of our current airport system to disruption, so we welcome the Commission’s push for short and medium term measures which ought to improve punctuality and strengthen resilience.”
