• The FAA has issued a Special Awareness Information Bulletin (SAIB CE-18-05) advising of concerns with certain Kidde fire extinguishers with plastic handles, which may become clogged or require excessive force to discharge and can fail to activate during a fire emergency.

    The manufacturer has issued a recall notice that involves 134 models of fire extinguishers manufactured between January 1, 1973, and August 15, 2017, which notes that there have been approximately 391 reports of failed or limited activation or nozzle detachments.
