UK Civil Aviation Regulations

These are published by the CAA on our UK Regulations pages. EU Regulations and EASA Access Guides published by EASA no longer apply in the UK. Our website and publications are being reviewed to update all references. Any references to EU law and EASA Access guides should be disregarded and where applicable the equivalent UK versions referred to instead.

The process of defining and measuring the complexity of an aviation entity, the gathering of safety risk and performance information, assessing the entity's performance to manage their safety risks, engaging with the entity's accountable manager and directing regulatory future oversight activity to enhance safety, is known as Risk Based Oversight (RBO). This is the means by which the CAA oversees the safety performance of the aviation industry, and the management of safety risks and hazards.
