Chameleon Worldwide Travel Limited - ATOL 10186 has ceased trading on 31st October 2016.
The company based in Alresford traded under the names Adventure Worldwide, Chameleon Worldwide, Families Worldwide, Schools Worldwide and Walks Worldwide and under the websites www.chameleonworldwide.co.uk, www.schoolsworldwide.co.uk, www.walksworldwide.com, www.adventureworldwide.co.uk and www.familiesworldwide.co.uk.
Consumers currently overseas
If you are currently overseas on a trip purchased directly with Chameleon Worldwide Travel Limited and you hold a scheduled flight, the flight remains valid for the return to the UK. Passengers are advised to check with the airline as per their existing flight ticket.
The CAA is speaking to the accommodation providers in order to guarantee no changes to the accommodation portion of the trip for Chameleon Worldwide Travel Limited consumers who are currently overseas. It is possible that consumers may be required to pay again for accommodation, or other elements purchased as part of the ATOL protected trip. Consumers who are requested to repay should call the phone number on their ATOL certificate or email email@example.com providing full booking details.

Package bookings with Chameleon Worldwide Travel Limited
If you booked a package with Chameleon Worldwide Travel Limited and were issued with an ATOL Certificate and confirmation which states 'Package sale', and you hold scheduled tickets, the flights may be valid. Passengers are advised to check with the airline, if the airline confirms you have a valid ticket for travel, you have two options:
Option 1: if you do not wish to use your flight, you can make a claim for a refund for the amount you paid to Chameleon Worldwide Travel Limited for your ATOL Protected package. Also for passengers with non-valid flights.
Option 2: you can use your flight however the other elements of your original package have not been paid to local suppliers. You can make a claim for the cost of replacing the other elements included in your original package. However, there is a limit to the amount you can claim. The replacement items must either match your original booking or be of exactly the same standard (board basis, room type, tour etc) as the original. To avoid any issues in resort, consumers still wishing to travel should confirm all the elements of their booking with the relevant supplier and agree payment for these in advance of travel. The consumer's claim in any event cannot exceed the cost of their entire holiday (including flights).

Update for consumers who paid by credit card
Credit card payments to Chameleon Worldwide Ltd
If you paid for your original trip by credit card to Chameleon Worldwide Ltd your claim will be with the credit card provider for all payments made by credit card and the CAA for payments by other methods. A letter for your credit card issuer is available here.
If you are an agent for Chameleon Worldwide Travel Limited you are advised not to refund consumers with any monies you are currently holding. Travel agents will be individually contacted by the CAA with specific instructions for these bookings.
