UK Civil Aviation Regulations

These are published by the CAA on our UK Regulations pages. EU Regulations and EASA Access Guides published by EASA no longer apply in the UK. Our website and publications are being reviewed to update all references. Any references to EU law and EASA Access guides should be disregarded and where applicable the equivalent UK versions referred to instead.

UK-issued cabin crew medical reports

Cabin crew medical reports issued by a UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)-approved Aeromedical Examiner (AME) or Occupational Health Medical Practitioner (OHMP) are required on UK-registered aircraft.

For aircraft registered in one of the EU countries, UK-issued medical reports are unlikely to be recognised. Cabin crew should contact their airline and / or the National Aviation Authority for the country where their airline’s aircraft are registered to establish arrangements for any recognition of their medical report.

EU-issued cabin crew medical reports

Cabin crew medical reports issued by EU Member State AMEs or OHMPs after the 1 January 2021 will not be recognised by the UK. Cabin crew who become unfit after this date should consult a UK CAA-approved AME or UK OHMP.
